CES 2009: Palm Pre

With CES well underway in Vegas, Palm has announced its new Palm WebOS alongside its new smartphone, the Palm Pre. The new device takes a desktop computing approach to the way applications are used.

The Palm Pre features a 3.1 inch touch screen and a physical keyboard. The new WebOS that palm has developed allows the user to run multiple applications at once which the user can switch between using the Palm ‘cards’ interface (see image below). The device also features a gesture area below the screen so the user can do simple gestures like go back, forward and home screen.
