Despite my extensive criticism of Sensis, I do use the yellow.com.au web portal quite regularly, and because of this, I haven’t ever considered turning to the physical copy of the Yellow or White Pages. However, after looking at The Australian’s figures (published today), it seems I’m going against the general trend. Revenue from the tree-killing physical copy of White Pages grew by over 10% last year, which sets Sensis’ trend completely against “sharp declines” recorded in the rest of the world. I assume this isn’t anything out of the ordinary when compared to previous growth in Australia, but I am a little surprised that advertisers are still flocking to this medium. – r.
