MacSweeper’s sequel is worse than the original

Mac users should be aware of MacGuard, the second known rogue security product for the Mac platform that’s doing the rounds at the moment. Similar to MacSweeper, MacGuard makes exaggerated reports of spyware and viruses lurking on the unsuspecting users’ computer, in order to lure the user into buying the “full version” of the software. It is disappointing to see such software being made for the Mac, as it is slowly destroying the “virus-free” reputation of OS X. You can read Sunbelt’s write-up on MacGuard here.
