While browsing MySpace yesterday I discovered this confusing advertisement lurking at the top of the page.
Of course, being a Mac OS X user, it was pretty darn obvious this was click fraud, but your average MySpace member most likely is running Windows and doesn’t know a whole lot about computers.
While I’ve seen this type of thing on smaller, less secure websites, it surprises me that MySpace (owned by Murdoch’s News Corp) allows advertisements such as this go ahead. Would News Corp allow the same advertisement to appear on other company owned websites such as the Wall Street Journal?
